Facilitator Training

Family Child Care at Its Best (FCCB) is now offering training for facilitators! Trainers, coaches, and community leaders who provide support to family child care or family, friend, and neighbor providers can learn how to facilitate FCCB workshops and gain access to all necessary curriculum to offer FCCB workshops.

How It Works

Facilitator training is a two-part process:

Step One: Complete the Intro to Family Child Care at Its Best for Facilitators course.

Intro to Family Child Care at Its Best for Facilitators provides foundational knowledge and serves as a prerequisite to the topic-specific facilitator training courses. This 5 hour course include 3 hours of asynchronous pre-work, followed by a 2-hour live Zoom session. Participants completing this course will have access to register for any available Family Child Care at Its Best Training of Facilitators courses.

This course is offered monthly and registration is through the CA ECE Workforce Registry. Go to the Registry Training Search, and enter the course title: Intro to Family Child Care at Its Best for Facilitators.

Step Two: Complete a Family Child Care at Its Best Training of Facilitators course for the topic(s) of your choice.

Facilitators must attend a course for each topic they wish to facilitate. These 5 hour courses include 3 hours of asynchronous pre-work, followed by a 2-hour live Zoom session. Access to the complete curriculum for that topic will be provided following completion of the course.

  • Facilitators must attend a course for each topic they wish to facilitate. Access to the complete curriculum for that topic will be provided following completion of the course*.
  • Facilitators are required to ensure any workshops they offer are listed on the California Early Care and Education Workforce Registry.
  • Facilitators may lead FCCB workshops for their own or other agencies, and are allowed to charge for their time. FCCB workshops must always be offered at NO COST to attendees.
  • Facilitator training will be offered on multiple topics throughout the year. To support equitable access to this opportunity, please do not register unless you have plans to facilitate FCCB workshops in the near future.

*FCCB reserves the right to remove a Facilitator’s access to curriculum.
